About	Patricia "Patt" Tanner Smith, 69, South Daytona, peacefully went to the arms of her heavenly Father on August 23, 2009, after a courageous, two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Patt was born in Daytona Beach and was a 1958 graduate of Mainland High School. She attended Daytona Beach Community College in its first year of operation and was a legal secretary with the law firm Cobb & Cole, where she retired after 30 years. Patt was an avid reader, a lover of cats, and enjoyed supporting local live music. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronald W. Smith; two sons, Jeffrey Smith, Vancouver, WA and Kevin Smith, Daytona Beach; a grandson, Shawn Moniz, Daytona Beach; two brothers, Samuel Tanner, Cumming, GA and John Tanner, Jr., Canton, GA; and several nephews and nieces. Patt was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Pierce Tanner; and two daughters, Kimberly Ann Smith and Leslie Ann Smith. A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Patt's memory be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 4140 S.
