About | Thomas Brendan Darcy, 35, of Holly Hill, died May 14, 2009 as a result of injuries he sustained on May 6, 2009 in a motorcycle accident. Tom was born on November 29, 1973 in Plymouth, MA where he became a lifelong Red Sox fan. He moved to Daytona Beach at age 5 and attended Lenox Elem., Campbell Jr. and graduated from Mainland High School in 1992. He studied at DBCC and graduated from Kaiser College with a degree in computer programming. He worked with some of his best friends for the last 9 years at Palm Coast Data as a Senior Systems Engineer. Tom loved surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and riding his Harley... he lived life to the fullest. Thomas is survived by his loving parents, Carene (Hutchinson) Darcy of South Daytona and Paul Darcy (Cathy Ransley) of South Daytona; his three brothers, Sean (Joyce) of Port Orange, Dan (Jill) of South Daytona, Tim of Daytona Beach; and his sister, Karen Cebulske (Jeff) of Vancouver, WA. He is also survived by aunts & uncles and many cousins, some like Rick, Tracy, Chris & Jeff were more like siblings to Tom... as well as his "adopted brother" Frankie Guinther. Ryan, Kaelin, Erica, Emma, Keara, Robert, Alex & Lauren will miss jumping on and playing with their crazy Uncle Tom more than words can describe. Tom was indeed a friend to all... over 270 of his friends, family and co-workers were following computer updates showing his progress in the hospital and praying for his recovery. The family wishes to thank the Halifax ICU doctors and especially the nurses who cared for him and Tom's friends for their support, prayers and love. A service celebrating Tom's life will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (724 Big Tree Rd., South Daytona) on Wednesday, May 20 at noon with the procession to Daytona Memorial Cemetery to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the American Cancer Society in Tom's memory. |
