Philip Mehl graduated from East Texas State University in 1974 with a degree in computer science after serving 4 years in the US Navy. He worked as a systems analyst until he retired in 2011. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Duncanville where he served on thd Board of Trustees. He was an active member of the Property Improvement Program and Missions and received a Volunteer of the Year Award. At the time of his death he was residing in Melissa, Texas after living in Cedar Hill,Texas for 40 years. He was married to his wife, Janette whom he met in college, for 49 years. He was also survived by three children, 7 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.
