My Mom passed away in 1971 and I joined the Navy in late 72. I served for 30 years in the submarine force and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 2003. I served on USS MEMPHIS (SSN 691), USS JOHN MARSHALL (SSBN 611), USS BATON ROUGE (SSN 689), USS HOLLAND (AS 32) and USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40). I also served on the staff of the Submarine Force Commander in Pearl Harbor HI for my last four years.
