Joined the Navy in 1979 through Officer Candidate School. Also went to Naval School of Diving and Salvage to become a Diving Officer. Retired in 2000 as a Commander (0-5).

Navy, 20 Years
Enlisted after high school. Three years later, picked up an appointment the the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated with the Class of '81. Russian language school for a year and off to the world of covert intelligence gathering. Served on board ships, submarines, aircraft and SEAL Teams all around the world. Loved what I was doing until I got too senior (old?) to do it any more. Retired after 20 years.

Privileged to have served with Soldiers, Sailors, Air force members, Marines in our country's service for over 31 yrs. Served as a Soldier, Air Defense Officer, Public Affairs Officer, and as a Inspector General. Reinforcing Toni Blake's description of her significant spouse service above, special thanks go to Ida (wife/combat veteran) who also served 26 yrs in US Army providing invaluable support as well as thanks go to the many military members we served with for their dedication/service.

Our Lynbrook High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Lynbrook High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in San Jose are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
