| About Me | This is ripped right from my www.classmates.com profile (hell, I'm lazy - what can I say?) it's pretty verbose and in all honesty, probably not worth the read - can't disuade you? read on: Hmmmm.......how to start a 34 year recap without turning it into the ultimate exercise in self-indulgence. Ah, what the hell, I'll give it a shot. If you get bored, turn to the Oxygen channel next Thursday to see the Hallmark version. After graduating the hallowed halls of LVR, I plodded off to Seton Hall and got degrees in Philosophy and Political Science. While there I took a serious liking to the punk/alternative music scene percolating in the lower east side in NYC. That had me hanging out at Max's Kansas City, CBGBs and the Mudd Club more weekday nights than I can remember. Through that hard-to-remember time I had the opportunity to meet such musical luminaries as The Ramones, Blondie, Television, the Talking Heads and a few years later befriend the guys in R.E.M. In 1985 I did a brief tour supporting The Cure, back when they were theater size, not stadium size yet. I started forming bands back then, playing bass and trying for any gig we could get. Upon graduating college I moved to NYC up by Columbia University and then a year later to Spanish Harlem where I was only shot once (seriously,it's a cute story, remind me to tell you about it sometime). Having been trained in Philosophy, I logically secured my first Wall Street job in 1988, all the while maintaining my underworld alt-ego in the music biz. In 1988 I moved to Hoboken, where I still reside to this day. I became quite the gym rat around 1995 and haven't throttled back yet. Long about 2000 I married Robin, who I had met on a blind date a few years earlier. She's originally from California...sort of...Air Force brat. I proposed to her in Dublin and got married in Greenwich Village. We've opted not to have children and instead just rattle around our brownstone by ourselves. Musically I switched from bass to guitar around the same time so I could work on my own material and didn't have to hassle constantly with maintaining a band. The CD (or codified ensemble of MP3 songs) will be tentatively titled "The Democracy of Laundromats" - best if you don't ask, because currently there is no viable explanation. I've now been on Wall Street for 22 years and have a great position as a Managing Director running sales for an institutional brokerage firm across the street from the NYSE. Things are good, life is good, my wife (just turned 40 (see pics) is an amazing person. Be well, cheers all. Quick update: Moved to Austin in July. Bloody hot here. Working in the AI/big data space now since there is no shortage of it and no shortage for the demand. Never thought I'd live in Texas but stranger things have happened.
