Navy Reserves, 5 Years
Boot camp,Great Lakes Illinois. Served as a third class I.C.man on a destroyer leader U.S.S.wilkinson D.L. 5 and then the Joseph K. Tausic D.E. 1030. Both home ported Newport,Ri. Sailed the Atlantic coast from Halifax N.S. to islands in the caribbean

Navy, 6 Years
Served not quite 6 years as a nuclear qualified Electricians Mate. Trained at Great Lakes, Nuclear Power School at Bainbridge, Maryland and at Nuclear Power Training Unit at West Milton NY. Then assigned as a Operator Instructor at West Milton for two years. Final duty station was SSBN 634 USS Stonewall Jackson and made deterrent patrols out of Holy Loch, Scotland.

Served as QMSN to QM2 aboard USS Charles H. Roan DD853 Stationed in Newport, RI. Did a 6 month Med trip where I did Celestial Navigation daily. Was aboard during the Santo Domingo Crisis.
