After a 4 year illness (limbic encephalitis, an autoimmune illness leaving him with short term memory loss and seizure disorder) Jer died peacefully surrounded by family on 12/22/10. He died of pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Five days before passing, he attended the Ludington Oriole basketball game. During those 4 years he continued to golf, be social with friends and have a pretty good quality of life.
