About Me	Hello I’m Edna and I was born January 19 1928 in Pearsons Chapel, Houston County, Texas. My parents were Robert A & Lena Mae “Stubbs” Arnold. Grandparents were William A & Mary Susan “Mollie Brewton” Arnold and James Walter & Dora Louise “Oliver” Stubbs. When I was only 18 months old my mother Lena died so I never knew her and of course I don’t remember her. My father Robert remarried and I was raised by he and my step mother Maggie Ola. When Robert married Ola he had three daughters Alma Lois and Mary Lee and Ola had two children Horace Beason and Mary Frances. Then together Robert and Ola had three more daughters, twins Billie Gene and Bettie Jane and Minnie Ola. You can say we had a full house. The term yours mine and ours comes to mind. I met and married Roy Rayford Smith in 1946. Together we had two children, Janet Lynn & Roy Neal. I worked in the Trinity Basket Factory making webs. I’ve waited tables in the Confectionary in Lovelady and the garment plant in Crockett making blue geans. In 1967 I went to work in the Trinity Memorial Hospital as a nurse. I only finished the ninth grade in Lovelady so in 1969 I received my GED. Then I went to LVN School in 1970 and worked at that occupation until retiring June 8,1990. During my career I worked on the floor tending patients, Medication nurse, surgical nurse and then transferring to the Trinity Clinic I worked for several of the doctors that practiced in Trinity. After retiring I moved back to Pearsons Chapel with my husband Ray to live on the family farm. After Ray died in 1992 I moved back to Trinity where I now live. I’ve just celebrated m...(read more)
