Charles Bryan Snow, 39, of Loudon, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 18, 2004. A 1983 graduate of Loudon High School, Bryan joined the Army and served as a military policeman. Later he served the community as a Loudon County Sheriff's Deputy and a Lenoir City Police Officer. During his tenure with Lenoir City, Bryan received a commendation from the FBI for his role in defusing a difficult hostage situation, saving lives. An avid gun collector, Bryan spent time working at a gun shop in Knoxville where as an instructor, he taught many gun safety courses. He was a member of FOP Lodge 21. He dearly enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and camping and many will remember his sense of humor. Most recently, Bryan could be found at home, caring for his terminally ill father-in-law, Bill Henderson, who passed away Dec. 13. Charles Snow was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Jackson Snow "Jack" and Della Estelle Walker "Billye". He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Pam Henderson Snow; sisters and brother in-law, Suzie Miller, Lois Snow and Robert Harrison; nephews, Dustin and Jacob Miller, and Walker Snow Harrison, all of Loudon. Funeral services were held 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Jackson and Rev. Tom Rayford officiating. Interment was 2 p.m. Tuesday in Reed Springs Cemetery, with honors provided by the Loudon Police Color Guard. Serving as pallbearers were Harrison Presley, Jim Tucker, Bobby Hamilton, Sonny Grubb, Randy Bryant, Tim Bacon, David Fickey, Mike Cartwright, Dustin Miller, Jacob Miller and Walker Harrison. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan and Ben Tucker and Colton and Cody Presley. To honor Bryan's love of history, memorial contributions may be made to the Billye Snow Memorial Genealogy Fund, c/o First National Bank, 817 Mulberry St., Loudon, TN 37774, to support the Genealogy Room of the Loudon Public Library. The family received friends 5 - 8 p.m. Monday prior to the service at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.

Maryville (WVLT) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Maryville College Assistant Football Coach killed in a car accident.

Shawn Cody Bowers, 25, of Madisonville died when he crashed his truck into two trees on Maryville College's campus late Monday night.

Two other men in the car were seriously hurt.

Bowers' family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Bierely-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bierely-Hale Chapel.

Bowers will be interned in Sunset Cemetery.

His obituary reads:

"BOWERS, SHAWN JEREMIAH CODY, age 25, of Madisonville, went home to be with the Lord, Monday evening, November 19, 2007. He was a 2000 graduate of Loudon High School, were he lettered in football, baseball and basketball and won numerous athletic awards. He was in the top 25 of his graduating class. He was a 2005 graduate of Maryville College, where he received a Bachelors degree in history and lettered 3 years in football. He was an assistant football coach at Maryville College for the last 2 years. He was a member of South Madisonville Baptist Church and was a born-again Christian. He loved trout fishing and deer hunting.

Jerome Andrew Pope, 43, passed away suddenly Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.

Jerome graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1987, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting, most recently working in Knoxville as a CPA and financial advisor.

He is survived by his children, Andy and Macy Pope; his wife, Melissa H. Pope; the mother of his children, Julieanne Pope, all of Knoxville; his parents, James and JoAnn Pope of Loudon; his brother and sister in-law, John and Jill Pope; his nieces, Johnna and Morgan Pope, all of Loudon; his aunts and uncles, Hollis and Patsy Pope, Raymond and Phillis Reel, John and Melba Hargis, all of Pikeville, Hallie Pope of Dunlap and Dot Reed of Dayton; by several cousins; and by his step-children, Ashton and Sawyer Henderson of Knoxville.

Funeral service were held at the First Baptist Church, Loudon, with Mr. James Thomason and the Rev. Mark Lampley officiating. Contributions in memory of Mr. Pope may be made to the Loudon County 4H Club, 100 River Road, Loudon, TN 37774 or to Boys and Girls Clubs of the TN Valley, 220 Carrick Street, Suite 318, Knoxville, TN 37921. The family met at McGill Karnes Funeral Home and proceeded to the Loudon County Memorial Gardens for an interment service. The family received friends prior to the service at First Baptist Church, Loudon.
