Doris (Gaffney) Nielsen

Air Force, 20+ Years
Left home and joined the Air Force in May 1977. From basic training I went to Bremerhaven, Germany as a radar operator for 2 years; left Germany and moved on to Duluth AFB, Minnesota for 1 year; moved to Edwards AFB, California (administration field) in November 1980, left Edwards in Feb 1986 for a 1 year remote to Thule, Greenland; left Thule in Feb 1987 and ended up back at George AFB, California; from there I went to Rockville AFS, Iceland, for 2 years; and finally, the Air Force moved me to Tyndall AFB, Florida (Florida Panhandle) as my last assignment. Retired from the Air Force in June 1997 as a First Sergeant.
