Lucas passed away March 21, 2007 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, TX. He died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was suffering from terminal bone cancer and died 9 days short of his 30th birthday. He is survived by his parents, George and Linda Thompson and his sister, Amanda Thompson-Carver. Per his request, he was buried at Pidcoke Cemetary in the Thompson Family plot just outside of Gatesville, Texas.
