About	Dedar Sihota passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 8, 2022 at 98. Born in India on February 9, 1924 he came to Canada in 1936 at 12. He overcame many barriers, attending UBC to become BC’s first Indo-Canadian teacher. He was married to Joyce for 68 years and together they raised seven children. Dee was intelligent, kind and generous and was a pioneer, a mentor and a role model to many. His bright mind and giving character will be dearly missed. He is survived by six children, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister and his sister-in-law. Dee was pre-deceased by Joyce his loving wife and by his beloved son Darshan.
