He grew up in Longview & graduated from LHS & East Texas Baptist College in Marshall TX. Steve moved to Lone Star TX & worked for A&A Coating. He had a tax preparation & bookkeeping business. Was member Lone Star Baptist Church, Lone Star. Survivors: his wife Shelley, Austin; daughter Lisa Ross, Dale City OK; son, Stephan Clayton Cooper Jr, Austin;brother,George E.(Sarah) Cooper Jr, Frisco TX; sisters Carolyn Cooper, Houston & Cindy Cooper, Fort Worth; grandsons Indiana Cooper, Max Cooper; granddaughter Maya Cooper
