Mike battled colon cancer for five long years.

Mike and I lived on Esther Street near Poly High, he west of Atlantic, I to the east. We first met in the sixth grade at Roosevelt Elementary across from Poly. However we went to different Junior high schools and reconnected in high school. I always admired his kindness toward me and, although we weren’t close, we always maintained a friendly relationship.
