Robert (Bob) Johnson
Bob Johnson was a quarterback on the FHSU football team. He helped lead the 1966 team to a 7-2 overall record and a first place finish in the CIC. He led the conference that season in total offense. In fact, Johnson led the FHSU team in total offense all four years he played from 1963-1966. He earned All-American honors in 1966. FHSU had winning seasons from Johnson’s sophomore through senior years.
During his senior campaign, he broke 14 school records. He still holds the school record for career touchdowns with 36, nine more than any other player. He also threw for 26 touchdowns, which ranks seventh on the all-time list. His 62 total touchdowns (36 rushing, 26 passing) ranks first in FHSU history. He tallied 10 touchdowns or more in three of the four seasons played at FHSU with the most being 14 in 1965. He is fifth on the all-time career rushing yardage list with 2,458 yards. Johnson also competed for the track and field team at FHSU.
