Lynnette F. Beenken Ludwigsen

Born: December 3, 1951; in Blue Earth, MN

Died: February 18, 2017; in Crystal Lake, IL

Lynnette F. Ludwigsen, 65, of Crystal Lake died peacefully in her home Saturday, February 18th after a long and courageous fight with cancer.

She was born Dec. 3rd, 1951 in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Leonard and LaVonne (Olson) Beenken. Lynnette graduated from Logan High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 1970. Lynnette married Robert W. Ludwigsen on March 29, 1975 in Crystal Lake, IL. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master's degree in Education. Lynnette first taught English at McHenry West High School where she met her devoted husband. After spending many years lovingly focused on raising her sons Lynnette returned to teaching, first at MCC, then at Marian Central HS, and finally retired after several years at Northwood Middle School in Woodstock.

Lynnette and Robert loved camping and exploring the world, particularly scenic Route 66. She also had many other interests and talents, such as quilting, knitting, arts and crafts, gardening, and spending time with her book club. A favorite pastime was proudly displaying her handiworks in craft shows with her mother. Most of all, Lynnette enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and family members, particularly her granddaughters.

She is survived by her parents; husband; children, Robert L. Ludwigsen of Richland, WA, Aaron Ludwigsen of Crystal Lake; two grandchildren, Anya and Annabelle Ludwigsen; three sisters, Sheryl Beenken Wohlf, Mary (Douglas) Leifheit, and Debra (William) Craig; 3 nieces, Rachael (Pierre) Letourneau, Emily Wohlf, and Nicole Leifheit; nephew, Paul (Holly) Leifheit; uncles, Terry and Darwin Olson; unofficial daughter, Jennifer Boksa Ludwigsen; oh so many cousins; and special friend, confidant, and caretaker, Betty Jean Stoltze of Crystal Lake.

Visitation will be held at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. in Crystal Lake on Thursday, Feb. 23rd from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life there after. Rev. Sally Harris will officiate. Interment in Windridge Memorial Park will be private.
