About	Daughter of Barbara Doyle Schubeler ('61) and Ken Schubeler. Lori was fatally shot and killed by her employer as he was showing a gun from his collection to a patron in his place of business (B&B in Callicoon, NY). Lori was an actress for many years, appearing in theatre productions in NY as well as soap opera spots and a role in Neil Simon's movie, "Lost in Yonkers" with Mercedes Ruehl & Richard Dreyfuss. Lori lived in West Chester, OH until she attended and graduated from Otterbein College. She moved to Manhattan, NY in 1989 after interning her last year of college. In 2001 she was working (in addition to her acting) at Twin Towers, but fortunately moved in March of 2001 to Callicoon, NY....a small and much "safer" place where she enjoyed her many pets, her home surrounded with gardens of flowers and trees. Her long time partner, Jim, was the love of her life. Following her tragic death, her parents chose to accept the plea of the man responsible for her death with the request that he serve probation and that he do community service relating to his negligence. He could have spent many years in prison, however, his age and health, as well as my sister and brother-in-law and nephew did not want to be vindictive, only to make something good come of Lori's death. They have and will continue to suffer forever, as will our entire family. Our mother turned 90 in December and Lori's absence at the surprise birthday party left an obvious void in the celebration.
