Ruben Garcia, scholar, athlete, musician, & friend to all, was a member of
the Livermore High School class of of 1960 (not 1969) was an exceptional
person & friend. As a translator of Latin American poetry & having lived
in Mexico & Guatemala for extended periods since the 1980s, I think of
Ruben as as a shining star among Mexican-Americans, & I miss him every day.
He died only a few years after graduating from Livermore Joint Union High
School. leaving so many of us bereft.
