Born Dec 10, 1940, David Dillon attended Littleton High School in Littleton, CO.

Class of 1958

David Charles Dillon died 4/19/2026 at the age of 85 in Denver, Colorado. Beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy (Kooi) Dillon, and granddaughter Audrey Best. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Dillon, brother Tom Dillon (Judith), nephew Jim Dillon (Kristan), niece Julie Dillon, children Jen Hogan (John) and Kathy Best (Wayne), grandchildren Ben, Kathleen, Rachel, and Lauren, and great granddaughter Lotus.

After graduating from University of Denver, Dave spent the majority of his working years with Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) as an aerospace engineer, contributing to many successful space missions. He loved railroading and built many intricate model train setups over the years. He was very interested in the Civil War, particularly the strategic impact of railroads, and the Lincoln assassination. A life member of the Surratt Society in Maryland, he authored several articles for the society’s research and newsletters. He loved to read and never stopped learning - his collection of Civil War books was impressive, containing several antiquarian volumes.

Dave had an amazing sense of humor and a sharp intellect. He was always willing to fix what needed to be fixed, and to analyze any issue and provide a workable solution. He was an avid gardener, loved NASCAR, and enjoyed discovering what he could about his family genealogy.

No public service will be held. If you’d like to honor Dave’s memory with a charitable donation, we humbly suggest the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
