Cara Merrily Jahns, 28, late of Hammond, Ind., died Tuesday, March 21, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey. She was born Sept. 22, 1960, in Hinsdale, and formerly resided in Lisle and Naperville.
A graduate of Lisle High School and Valparaiso (Ind.) University, she was employed by Montgomery Ward and Co. in North Riverside as manager of the jewelry department. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas Kilgore of Hammond: her parents. Noel Jahns and John Hogberg of Naperville: and two sisters. Kristen and Kate Jahns of Naperville.
Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Gertrude Schuessler of LaGrange Park: and her paternal grandmother Gertrude Jahns of Wausco, Wis. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jahns.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm tomorrow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, with the Rev. Arthur Beyer officiating.
Interment will take place at the Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 9 pm today at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Development Cancer Center in care of Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Harvey, Ill.
