About	Oct. 5, 2011, Jayne Leigh Snyder died of pancreatic cancer. Services were held at First Plymouth Church and Wyuka Funeral Home. The owner of Snyder Physical Therapy, she was praised for improving Lincoln's business climate, for her love of parks and trails - including her part in the citizen group that bought land to begin the MoPac East project in 1991. A member of the Turtles running group, she ran 50 marathons in 27 states, collecting 600 T-shirts along the way. She was nationally renowned as a physical therapist and a mentor to women who wanted to start their own businesses. With a BA from the University of Nebraska and MA from Stanford, Jayne was a Lincoln City Council member since 2009 and an active booster for city politics and involvement. She was alive to see the completion ceremony for the MoPac Trail, which now goes all the way to Eagle. A building along the trail in the Antelope Valley Project near the new Central Park has been named for her.
