About	Stan died in October 1998. That same year, he had been inducted into the LNE Athletic Department Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements at LNE in football, basketball and baseball, lettering eight times. Stan went on to play for the University of Nebraska on a scholarship and was part of Bob Devaney's first freshman class. After university, Stan worked in the insurance field for over 25 years. He was survived by 4 children. At the time of his Hall of Fame selection, Stan said, "I remember the great relationships between coaches and players. They were always there for each other. We really worked together to accomplish team goals and we played hard in games and also in practice. "I remember playing with some of the all-time greats at Northeast. Athletics taught me to work hard and always to keep striving forward. The 'never-say-die' attitude and the working hard whether we win or lose. I was fortunate to be part of two State Championship teams -- the '61 football and the '62 basketball State Championship teams." Stan's name came up often again in the fall of 2012, as it was the 50th anniversary of Seacrest Field, and it was Stan who scored the first and only touchdown of the first game played there, giving LNE a 6-0 win.
