Began military service August 7, 1967 at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Waukegan, Illinois. Served two combat tours in Vietnam (Gia Le and Red Beach-Danang North) between 1968 - 1970 with Seabee Combat Engineer Battalion 121. Stateside base Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, Mississippi from January 1968 to June 1970. Last year of service (June 1970 - June 1971) at the U. S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. Honorable discharge August 1971.
