I met Steve when we were sophomores. We were both swimming backstroke. I did not know hire well, but since we were swimming the same stroke, we often sat together on bus trips to our meets. I enjoyed those quiet conversations As Tom Stephens said, he was a good guy.. I was sorry to learn of his passing.

I grew up with Steve and we played on several sports teams. He talked me in to transferring from Lincoln Northeast to Lincoln High for my junior year. I really didn’t know many people at Lincoln High but he introduced me to a lot of guys on the football team and I was glad I transferred. Steve was a good guy. Tom Stephens
