Favorite School Memory	I was independent the last two years, and support ed myself by working at Piggly Wiggly, which was very educational. I have no real happy memories at Lincoln.
About Me	I overcame a cronic stutter after 25 years. I learned the Russian language. I became a full professor at Columbia University and Emeritus. I have received numerous research grants and fellowships including a NSF, a Fullbright and a Woodrow Wilson in support of my demographic research and publications on the Soviet Union. I taught only graduate students, and most of them have become successfull. One is President of Brandeis. Two paper session were devoted to me at the national meetings of the Association of American Geographers in 1998, and there were enough willing scholars for a third session. Anyhow, for a stutter born in the dust bowl of northern North Dakota , where we got no crops, because no rain, and my father died, my life has been a long trip.
