About | MICHAEL ALAN RAPISURA Passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the age of 56 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Michael was born May 7, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the son of Felisa Gasmen Rapisura and the late Sabas Rapisura. He graduated from Leilehua High School in 1971. In 1972 he joined the Honolulu Police Department where he served for 27 years. His greatest joy was becoming a solo bike Police Officer. He married Merriam Robinson in 1976 and was blessed with 2 children, daughter, Renee and son, Jon. Michael tried retirement for a while and decided that the idle life was not for him, so he returned to the work field and finally joined Aloha Airlines where he worked 9 years as a security officer until their closure. He enjoyed the flight benefits and was known to fly to Las Vegas to visit his daughter, even if for just a day. Michael loved to ride his motorcycle and would go "cruising" as often as he could. He also loved to cook and feed everyone making sure everyone had a meal before he would eat. We all have been blessed with knowing the most awesomest man ever. He was a devoted husband, a great father to his children and father figure to all his nieces and nephews. A loving son and brother, he worked his hardest to give them all the best opportunities in life. His love was unconditional. His friendship was true and he would help anyone, anywhere, anytime. He is survived by his wife, Merriam; daughter, Renee; son, Jon. Mother, Felisa Gasmen Rapisura; brothers, Rosendo Rapisura, Rudolfo Rapisura; sisters, Carmen Cabreros, Elaine Utu, Dolores Goulsby and Mellissa Rapisura; nieces, Shari Rapisura, Angela York, Pamela Utu, Erica Utu and Darcey Goulsby; nephews, Steven Rapisura, Ryan Rapisura, Rickey Goulsby Jr., David Goulsby, Micah Lee, Lloyd Pagaduan and Jerry Pagaduan; grandchildren, Zenia and Zoey Okamura.
