| About Me | I met my Randi, the love of my life, on March 31st of ‘68. It was what they say, “love at first sight” and I proposed to her six weeks later. Although many thought we were crazy (way too young and impulsive), we married in late October of the same year and will celebrate our 39th anniversary on October 27th. Four children and ten grandchildren later, we find ourselves enjoying the retired life. I was a Captain in the Air Force as a hospital administrator, but in late1980 my family & I left the Air Force for civilian life. We moved to The Dalles, Oregon where my wife and I both worked as administrators for the local hospital. Four years after designing and developing software systems that applied to the healthcare industry, we left the hospital and formed a start-up company. Then, after 11 exciting years of peddling our wares across the nation while fending off 6 attempts to buy us out, we sold our company to the 7th, a competitor in North Carolina. I gave them the required two years and in 1998 I retired for health reasons. I had been diagnosed with MS in 1988 and in 1998 I ended up in a wheelchair, which precluded me from doing all of the travel required of the job. So I went from a full-time “jet-setter” to a full-time “sitter”. I am now busy writing a book about our adventure with the company, “The Great Entrepreneurial Fog” and I am also very involved with digital photography (trying to keep up with all of our grandchildren). Having children early in our marriage turned out to be a blessing, as I had good health while the kids were still in the nest.
