| About Me | Born and raised in the S.F. Bay Area. I attended Lone Hill Elementy, Union Middle, and Leigh High School class of 1989. After High School I went to San Jose City and San Jose State Colleges, where I studied Percussion Music Performance with Tony Cirone, Galen Lemon, Frank Wyant. I also studied Composition, and Choral studies. Throw in a little theatre acting, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Marching and Symphonic bands to boot. I was blessed to meet many other educators that helped lead me to my first school teaching job at Leland H.S. back in 1992. I then began playing for the SJSU marchng band. From there, I wrote and taught mallet and percussion music for Spirit of Sunnyvale Youth band for a couple of years and took on a job with SJSU writing and teaching the (pit) front ensemble. After Leland, I left to Wilcox H.S. and taught there from 95-2001 and also worked with Los Altos Marching Band, Armijo(Fairfield), as well as Vallejo H.S. and finally San Benito and Fremont H.S. til 2007. During that time I became a judge for the Northern Ca. Band association (NCBA) which I still do today as well as show design and percussion clinic work with S.F. bay area schools. Students have always had a huge impact on my life and I love hearing from former students to know what they are doing today! Some have taken the torch and are teaching :0) Mostly, I hope I've had a positive effect on you and your love of music. In 1990, I met the love of my life, Cathy at church. I was performing in a Christian rock band, The Chris Goff Band (Extol) at the time. (Cathy and I) We wound up driving home from an outdoor concert together and shared our first kiss. The Lord has blessed us in our dating, Marriage in 1997 and now with our 2 children. Currently, I work for Auto West Acura of Steven's Creek, play music and sing at Mountain View New Life Church as well as sell baseball cards on e bay coupled with the music writing/arranging and judging that I am still involved with. I also still enjoy watching and performing stage magic. Every year my church puts on an event on Halloween called Trunk or Treat. I perform a few shows that night display...(read more) |
