Richard "Tex" Roberts, 55, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away May 17, 2014. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd from 6-7 pm at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home. A memorial service will start at 7:00 pm. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Rick was born in Painesville, Ohio to Myrtle and Richard Roberts on October 7, 1958. He graduated from Lee's Summit High School, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service, he worked in several fields before joining JJJ's Electric and eventually becoming a master electrician. Rick's generous spirit touched everyone who knew him, and many who never knew that he had been their benefactor. His passing leaves a hole for those that love him that can never be filled. Rick was preceded in death by his father Richard C. Roberts, grandparents Ed and Emma Russell and William and Mildred Roberts and his beloved German Shepherd and best friend, Sam. He is survived by his mom Myrtle Roberts, sister Sandra Lynch (Orin), brother Jeff Roberts (Lillian), sister Ginger Burnes (Jason), a good friend Bonnie Santistevan and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
