About Me | It said write something about myself here in the box. So here goes: I am a Viet Nam War veteran and am proud that I served. I am a genuine country-raised man. Unfortunately, I now live in Olathe, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. I hope to move to the country again someday. I would love to be able to see the stars again at night and hear wildlife rather than sirens and lawnmowers constantly. I am married to a sweet lady, Nancy. Between us we have two sons (mine) and three daughters (hers, one of which is deceased), three eleven year old grandsons, a 21 yr. old grandson, a three year old grandson, a set of eight year old twin grandaughters, two son-in-laws and two daughter-in-laws. I also have three dog kids: Cubby, Chase, and Wendy, (all three are Cockapoos). I am a retired law enforcement officer, but have also worked as a manager in retail, and as a courier/truck driver for the County library system, and Security Officer for the city library system. If I could have one wish granted it would be that we could get our Country back again or at least salvage what is left of it and our freedoms before B.O. turns us into a copy of Russia. I played guitar and sang in some classic rock bands from my early teen years through my early twenties. I also developed a love for good Country Music. I had my own country band in the eighties called, "The Smokehouse Gang." It was successful and we played gigs every weekend in the Kansas City metro area. Later on, I desolved the band and began writing song lyrics as a hobby, two of which were recorded. My main hobbies and interests out of many are: creative writing, songwriting, local and national history book collecting, and metal detecting. I have a Bachelors Degree in Management and Human Relations and an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I also hold a Kansas Law Enforcement Certification and a Kansas Class C Soccer Coaching Certification. Some people I have been able to meet personally during my life thus far are: President Richard M. Nixon, President Gerald Ford, President Lyndon Johnson, Segovia (world famous classical guitarist), Pele (world's most famous professional soccer star), Salvidor Dali (world famous artist), George Blanda (retired professional football player), and country music stars, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, and the Urban Cowboy Band (all Grammy Award winners). The most unusual celebrity was Tiny Tim (pop singer). I am a Christian believer and I love the old Protestan...(read more) |
