About Me	Enrolled at Draughton's College of Commerce in KC, MO. Married Don Colvin in October of 1967. Took one class at Missouri Southern College in Joplin. After Don joined the Army, we went to Thailand for 2 years; I worked for 3-M Thailand as secretary to the district manager. We came back to Ft Ord, CA and during that time I took a temporary job to fill in for President Nixon's Aide de Camp while she served her two weeks tour of duty for the reserves. Then I took at job at the Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. And I typed thesis for Mechanical Engineering students--I earned 65 cents per page, with 5 cents for every carbon copy, and whatever I deemed suitable for the amount of equation in the thesis. After 4 years in the service, Don went to Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Our daughter was born there in 1974. I worked at Volume Shoe and then the First National Bank of Kansas. Don's first job was at the Marlley Corporation in Merriam, KS. We moved to Overland Park and I worked for Black & Veatch as secretary to one of the project managers. Our son was born in 1979 in Overland Park, KS; then I took a job as the president's secretary at Marlen Research and after becoming ill and having lung surgery, I went to Blue Valley North High School and was the Registrat for 22 years,...(read more)
