Class of 1997
Currently, Jasmin is an Associate in the Business Group at Ice Miller LLP, a downtown Indianapolis firm with over 300 attorneys throughout the Midwest and Washington D.C. Jasmin is a corporate lawyer and focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and general corporate matters. She has represented private and public companies in a variety of industries in connection with domestic mergers, international tax restructurings, stock and asset acquisitions, reorganizations and private equity offerings.
Prior to joining Ice Miller, Jasmin was a corporate associate with DLA Piper, US LLP, one of the world’s largest law firms. She also has in-house Corporate Counsel experience from her time at Redbox Automated Retail, the DVD rental kiosk company and at Atkore International, a billion dollar electrical and metal products manufacturer both headquartered in the Chicagoland area.
In 2009, Jasmin caught the "entrepreneurial bug" and while still practicing law, she founded J FRENCH, a personal branding consulting firm, created as a vehicle to help top performing professionals, entrepreneurs, professional athletes and graduate students add their own voice to others' perceptions by creating and showcasing a powerful personal brand. Her expertise has allowed her to be featured in Newsweek, The American Bar Association Student Lawyer magazine, The Chicago Bar Association's magazine and numerous on-line publications including a former contributing writer to the blog behind the award winning start-up BrandYourself.
In 2001, Jasmin joined Kimberly Clark Corporation, one of the world’s leading consumer packaged goods companies, as a Supply Chain Analyst and spent some of her time using her French language skills as a bilingual analyst working with French-Canadian consumer packaged goods retailers.
Jasmin graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2007 and was elected to the Vanderbilt Bar Association and was active in the Business Clinic and the Black Law Students Association. She is a 2001 graduate of Duke University, where she was the recipient of the Terry Sanford Award for Outstanding Leadership, a student member of the University Board of Trustees and held a two-year appointment to the University's Trinity Board of Visitors.
Jasmin is nearing the end of her appointment as a Diversity Fellow of the American Bar Association, General Practice & Solo Division and she is the former Chair of the Young Professional Board of the Chicago Sinfonietta Orchestra. Her interest in serving her community extends around the world as well. Jasmin has interned for the global company, Colgate Palmolive in Bangkok, Thailand and she was a member of a team of students who produced a documentary in Russia addressing social issues.
Jasmin’s desire to live a life that leaves a legacy has roots dating back to her years at LC and that desire continues just as strongly today.
