My Fred story is an exercise of my poor judgement, all those years ago --- Fred asked if he could use my car to go somewhere. I said yes. Fred returned the car, and all seemed good. Not quite though. I would give Chuck Ruegge a ride to Larkin in the morning. Mrs. Ruegge said "Tom's here, with blue lights behind him." Fred apparently encountered someone in need of a license plate, and my plate filled the bill. Live and burn.
