Althea Sullivan
Class of 1979
After graduation from Laney, Althea worked for then Georgia Federal Bank, met and married a soldier stationed at Fort Gordon. Traveled around the world birthed and raised two children. She settled down with her husband of 28 years (and counting) in Virginia where she worked partime as a Navy Federal Credit Union teller. Within 15 years she rose to become one of the most well known and respected Navy Federal Credit Union Managers. Althea was presented honors for both consecutive branch awards as well as Navy Federal's most coveted COBB award in recognition of Althea's individual excellence and achievements in branch banking. Althea is continuously tasked to train and mentor new managers and employees. Althea credits her work ethic and success to the teachers and the education she received a Lucy C. Laney.
