Class of 1942
I was born in Hudson , Wyoming 1922, My father was a coal miner and WW1 veteran . I was orphaned at the age of 11 with 5 siblings . Work for my keep on farms out in Milford , Wyoming . Went to a 1 room grade school . Trap muscrats for a cash flow. Including in the creek of bouldering creek. Where i caught 2 mink . Took Ag for 2 years , auto mechanics 1 year , was in the National Guard Horse Cavalry 1939 with PEE WEE McDougal . I hitch hike to Denver to join the regular Navy for 6 years . Was assigned to Destroyer that took part to Roosevelt's undeclared war to North Atlantic . Plank owner of 7752 . Ended up the war back in the PAcific , fighting KAmikaze airplanes , I was release with a 190 days coming. Married for 61 years to a British War bride.3 daughters and a widow for the last 4 years . My name is in the Pioneer monument even though I've lived 50 years in CA. Have distant cousins in your community , family cemetery in Hudsons.
