When I first arrived in Vietnam it was in Saigon. By way of an armor covered windowed bus, I arrived at Long Binh to process in country. I was at Long Binh for about a week awaiting my new orders. I first received orders to be sent to Na Trang to work as a helicopter crew chief/mechanic (MOS 67N10 (basic helicopter mechanic) & 67N20 (advanced helicopter crew chief/mechanic)). I worked at Na Trang for three weeks on pouring concrete and special construction projects. I then received my final orders to be stationed at Phu Loi to work in my MOS 67N20 - advanced helicopter crew chief/mechanic. The Phu Loi base camp is approximately 30 miles north of the capital Saigon.
