| Favorite School Memory | Probably Miss Biggio. Woman taught me to think critically and take no prisoners; didn't allow no "Newsweek opinions". Or Art Chrust for the same kind o' reasons. Or: When McAvoy and I went to visit Helton in the hospital after one of his many crashes, and we walk in and he sez "Ron Don Dan!" Dan and I still call each other RonDonDan. | About Me | Went to Fairleigh Dickinson for a year, worked at Cooper Labs for a couple years, was a Good Humor man in the free-fire zone, went back to College, built a lot of pole barns, doors & windows and a couple mausoleums, painted and plastered for work-study, then traveled all around the US and some of Mexico and Canada for 6 years doing oil, gas, coal and uranium exploration and development, had 3 companies shot out from under me when the oilfield crashed, one of 'em twice, married Sharon in '85, caught a job with PA's state air quality control program in Meadville in '86, bought an old house on 40 acres and fixed it up for 18 years - Still have it - played in a few bands, utility guitar, harmonica, vocals, some bass, wrote a lot of songs and some poems, transferred to Harrisburg in '05, worked there 10 years, the last 4 as chief of compliance and enforcement division, built another house, retired in Feb 2015, diggin' life now; the first day of retirement was th...(read more) |
