Judith Ann Watson
Virginia Beach - Judith A. Watson (Judy), 59, died Aug. 26, 2012 at the Seaside facility at Atlantic Shores in Virginia Beach, after a long battle with cancer. Prior to this, Judy lived in Norristown, PA. She was born on November 16, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL., to the late Richard and Ardis Watson.
She is survived by her brother Rick Watson and his wife Sandy of Virginia Beach; her nephew David R. Watson of Virginia Beach: her niece Laura E. Lindner of Virginia Beach; and her great-nieces Alexis and Amber Lindner.
Judy Watson was a 1970 graduate of Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, VA. She graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in 1974. While at Virginia Tech she put her musical skills to use as a member of the New Virginians musical group. After attending Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and graduating in 1974 as a Line Officer, U.S. Navy, she began her professional career as a faculty member of the Department of Defense Computer Institute, Washington, D.C. In 1976 she performed information system development for the Bureau of Naval Personnel, Washington, D.C. In 1978 she went on to work in several industries ranging from Software Products and Services to Information Technology and Services. Judy spent over 15 years of her career as a Director at IMS-Health in Norristown, PA, working on various innovative pharmaceutical marketing and research programs.
The family will be forever grateful to six special friends of hers that helped during this difficult time: Cathy Horvath, Deb Drake, Karrie Hontz, Liz Coyle, Pam Sauerwald, and Vera Adamek. The Rosenfeld Cancer Center Staff at Abington Memorial Hospital provided exceptional caring support to Judy and her family. The family also thanks the Atlantic Shores Seaside staff in providing excellent care for her these past few weeks.
