About	From the Atlanta Constitution, Tue., Mar 17, 1998 Barbara Rooks Austin of Conyers, died March 16, 1998. Barbara was a member of the St. Simon's Episcopal Church in Conyers. She was a special education teacher for 15 years in public and private schools, including the Howard School in Atlanta. In 1992, after being diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer, she became an educational consultant, writing books for learning disabled children. Barbara was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and was the founder of "Connections", a group of spouses of attorneys with Kilpatrick Stocking LLP, in Atlanta and Augusta, GA. She is survived by her husband, G. William Austin, Esq.,her sons William Austin, David Austin, Patrick Austin, and her daughter Allison Austin, all of Conyers, and her father Manning Rooks of Purvis, MS, and her mother Barbara Minnix of Salem, VA. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Simon's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Linn Watts will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Simon's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 102, Conyers, GA 30012.
