Robert K. (Bob) Johnston
Class of 1936
After graduating from Colorado Mines in 1940, I worked 32 years in research and development, then 27 years as a free-lance translator of Russian scientific literature. Meanwhile, starting at age 60, I embarked on a quest to become a poet. Now, 30 years later, I can claim the title. A collection of my poetry titled "At the Rim" has been published by Sunstone Press and is available through your favorite bookstore. These poems are about remembrance, love, and loss, with a certain amount of outrage at having been propelled into a century that I don't understand at all. The book is dedicated to my wife, Mary Doyle Johnston, who gave me my first incentive to enter the world of poetry.
