About Me | My Secret formula? Lx3= Live, Laugh and Love!!! It took me so long to write this because writing a description of myself is quite difficult. There are so many facets to my makeup that it's easy to overlook some if you don't pay close attention. I'm like that quilt your grandmother made you when you were 8. Sooo warm with pretty and strangely captivating patches. Just when you thought you liked one the best, another one catches your eye. Or, just when you think you saw them all..."where in the lord knows where did that come from?". IDK...I can't do much else, but be myself. You either love me or you don't. I don't have much of a say so in that area because I only care to fight another's opinion of me if it's absolutely necessary. I've lived a long 35 years and I've learned many lessons (I'm sure you can tell!). I have been beaten mind, body and soul "...and I'm still standing...yeah, yeah, yeah!". I have to. For my family and friends and those I don't know yet, but may need my help one day. I call myself Mother Shyra. Not ever to be confused with Mother Teresa. She remains one of my top influences, but I have never and will never attempt to become her. I've named myself so because I am a motivational counselor, writer, speaker, singer, humanitarian and philanthropist. I began counseling abused and neglected children with the old soul of a mother at the young age of 8. As I aged, I attracted adult products of abusive childhoods also. Everything I do and say is out of love--the tough love of a mother. My goal is to help others figure out who they were, understand who they are and discover who they will or have the potential to be. Along that journey, they need to understand our society in the past, present and future and how they fit into the progression of it. Not an easy feat you may say because life is so hard. I could care less about living "the easy life". I want to live MY life. It's the life I was meant to live and I love it in all of its humbling glory. I...(read more) |
