Daryl Trovato White
Class of 1972
In memory of Daryl Trovato White (05/12/1953 to 01/21/2012) Daryl left LaPorte in 1969 for the Seattle area and later ended up in Vancouver, Canada. Daryl left his legacy by suing LaPorte school district for kicking him out of school for peachfuzz above his upper lip. The lawsuit allowed fellow male students to grow their hair long and grow beards and mustaches. Before the lawsuit, female students had to wear dresses to school and then they were given the freedom to wear pants. Students were also granted "open campus".
