| About Me | Throughout life, I've met many challenges. My dad died when I was very young and my mom took off to do her own thing, leaving my grandparents and uncle to raise me. I've never let anything in life get me down. I set goals that are too high and I work to attain them because I LOVE that feeling of achievement. I LOVE learning new things from computer programming to stained glass. I am a healthcare IT worker, fixer of friends computers, mother, wife, artist, writer, professional belly dancer, dance instructor, AND a fitness coach. I LOVE helping people and I LOVE embracing life. I want to find every new experience out there and I want to try it! My first loves are IT, dance, writing, and fitness. As a new endeavor, I've found being a fitness coach involves all of these things. I love it because I can interact with people live or online and help them change their lives! I love the glow of knowing that I can help someone feel better about themselves. I've been belly dancing for a while now, I don't like to think about how long because it makes me feel old! I've danced at shows, private events, and I teach dance. I love teaching dance to people who want to learn and go on to learn from others. My other favorite part about dance, is dancing at private parties. Dancing at private parties is fulfilling because my partner and I go in and have the opportunity to interact with the people we are dancing for. I LOVE this style even more than shows because I can draw them in, make them laugh, sweat, and they can be a part of something wonderful! I'm also an avid reader. I read ANYTHING and I do mean ANYTHING. I love Anne Rice novels, but have read them ALL. I find Steven King's newer stuff to lack the certain luster of his former work. I've read Twilight and find it to be a horribly written series and I've also read the 50 shades, which I found repetitive and not well written. Currently, I'm reading Kelley Armstrong, Ted Deckker, and Ayn Rand. I listened to the audiobook of Atlas Shrugged and I found it highly recommended reading. This summer the kids and I are planning to build robots and computers. I love that I have the opportunity to share that part of me with the kids. It's difficult because I'm not good at legos or video games, but this is something I can do! :) I have many projects in my head that I long to do around the house. I want to paint, build some shelves, and more! I also want to add more stained glass to the house. I'm not sure when that can happen, but I hope soon! Sometimes, I feel like I'm 10 different people trapped in one. I need a person who can write all day, one who can paint, one who can do web stuff, one for the kids, one to belly dance and get some more fitness certifications, and a final one who can go out and learn new skills! Among the things I want to accomplish in 2013, I want a &fr...(read more) |
