| About | She was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., April 20, 1946, to Beverly and Starla Thomas. She graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1964 and Oregon State University in 1968 with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in special education from Oregon College of Education and, then, her Administrative Credential from Portland State University. Starla was a teacher of all grades, in addition to being a reading specialist and a curriculum resource teacher. She also was a principal at several Salem-Keizer Elementary Schools. In addition to her education career, she was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church, serving in many ministries. Furthermore, she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Assistance League Auxiliary of Salem-Keizer, having been a charter member. She was a past member of American Association of University Women, Confederation of Oregon School Administrators and Salem-Education Association. Auxiliary Educational Activities. |
