| About Me | My husband and I both retired from teaching high school English in 1997. We used to make our students groan and roll their eyes by telling them that we sat at home in the evenings, holding hands and reading the dictionary. Anyway, after 1997, I had seven years of actual retirement before I started writing about politics, first at the national and then at the state level as hotflash at Show Me Progress. Seven years of blogging burned me out on politics, but I did learn how to videotape and then edit my films during that time. Now I'm putting those skills to use filming birds. Birding is my husband's hobby and he challenged me to create films that he could use when he speaks about birds to local garden clubs. Connie (short for Cornelius) and I married in 1979, We have no children but he has two sons, so I have six grandchildren--without having gone to the trouble of raising any kids.
