Marine Corps, 3 Years
I went to Boot Camp at Parris Island. I then went to MCRD San Diego, CA for Communications/Electronics school, I then went to HQMC Henderson Hall, Arlington, VA where I worked in HQMC Communication Center until my discharge in 1976.
It was a great experience and I made many, many friends.

I just kept going and 24 years and several wars later I decided that being a tank commander was hazardous to my health so I decided to head in a different direction and hung up my spurs in Ky.

Air Force, 6 Years
Munitions Spec in Air Force. 408th MMS assigned to Ubon Royal Thai Air Force base. 6 months on Guam. Ended up in California where I was discharged. Two years later enlisted in the California National Guard as a Combat Communications Spec. Two years there and got out.

Howard Jay Tyzzer

Air Force, 6 Years
Entered the USAF in 1971. Basic training at Lackland AFB and then Lowry AFB for continuation of training. Specialty was Munitions (Ammo). First duty station- Ubon RTAFB located on the Thai - Lao boarder. Built lots of Bombs and other interesting things... Got out in 1974 and reenlisted into the Cal National Guard as a combat communications spec.

Originally assigned as a Combat Medic to an airtillry unit. In 2002 reassigned and was trained as a US Army Drill Sergeant. Currently I am the First Sergeant at a Drill Sergeant unit, in Orlando , Florida
