:Last year's reunion was cancelled due to covid so we will try again. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Hoyt Farm in Commack we have reserved part of a pavilion for a class reunion. It will be a bring your own event, we will supply the plates, cups, knives, forks, spoons, condiments, grilling utensils and charcoal, you bring whatever you would like to eat and drink. The cost is $15.00 each or $30.00 per couple. The town also charges $12.00 per vehicle for parking for non-residents of the town of Smithtown. When you enter you must let the attendant know that you are attending the reunion or you will not be allowed to enter the park. We are also trying to schedule a tour of the high school, although that has not been confirmed as of 3/21/2021. There is a reduced rate of $149.00 per night at the Hampton Inn on Commack Rd for class members attending the reunion. We are also working on getting a reduced rate at the Residence Inn on Vets Highway in Hauppauge. Both motels are near Hoyt Farm. More information will be sent as it becomes available

Directory: We are planning to put together a directory of current information for class members so please include as much of your contact information as you would like to be included in the directory with your payment such as current address and/or email address.
Name Tags: If your spouse or significant other will be attending with you please include their name so we can make a name tag for them.
Mixer: We are planning a "get to know you again" mixer as folks arrive at the reunion so you are asked to provide a short statement about an interesting or unique fact about your life after graduation. We will compile these (without the name of the person who submitted them) and the object of the mixer will be to reconnect with each other to match the information with the correct classmate.

Here is an update on lodging options for the class reunion. There are now two hotels offering discount rates The Hampton Inn and Residence Inn. The rate is the same for both places, $169.00 per night and both are about 3 miles from Hoyt Farm, the site of the reunion. I have stayed at both places and they are both very nice. In normal times they both have a breakfast buffet but I don't know if either location will return to serving breakfast by the time of the reunion. The Hampton Inn is on Commack Road on the Northeast corner of the intersection with the Long island Expressway (exit 52). If you are a member of the Hilton Honors program you may be able to stay there using points instead of paying for the room. The Residence Inn is located on Veterans Highway across from the football field at Hauppague High School. If you are a member of the Marriott Bonvoy program you may be able to stay there using points instead of paying for the room. Good news for those waiting for information about covid restrictions before deciding about attending the reunion. Asymptomatic visitors to the state are no longer required to quarantine before traveling to New York State. Below is the information from the New York State Health Department web page.
Asymptomatic travelers entering New York from another U.S. state or territory are no longer required to test or quarantine as of April 1, 2021. Quarantine, consistent with the CDC recommendations for international travel, is still recommended for domestic travelers who are not fully vaccinated or have not recovered from laboratory confirmed COVID-19 during the previous 3 months. Symptomatic travelers must immediately self-isolate and contact the local health department or their healthcare providers to determine if they should seek COVID-19 testing.
All travelers entering New York from a state that is not a contiguous state who have been outside of New York for more than 24 hours must complete the Traveler Health Form. Contiguous states to New York are Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont.
