A SPECIAL OFFER ONLY FOR KP AL

WRENTHAM-King Philip Regional High School will have all 20 regular season basketball games broadcast on WDIS AM 1170 and three local public access cable television outlets; Wrentham, Plainville and Norfolk.

King Philip Basketball is coached by first year coach Sean McInnis. For the past seven years McInnis was the head coach of the Weston girls basketball team. In King Philip, a large Division 2 school, McInnis takes over a boys program that found its third coach in four years after recording two consecutive no-win seasons (0-20) the past two years and a third season in which the team went 8-12. McInnis said, "It's exciting and energetic to come into the KP program, work with the local radio and Cable television stations and have every game broadcast. We need excitement and exposure for our program and this gives it to us. We've got a lot of work to do, but it can be done, I am very excited. The student-athletes are great. They deserve more than what their record has shown. They have an identifiable work ethic and if you have a work ethic and heart, the rest will come.''

WDIS-AM 1170 is located in Norfolk, MA and first went on the air in 1978. Over the years, broadcast notables like Janet Jeghelien, Gene Lavanchy and Dick Sinnott have worked at 1170-AM. WDIS recently added WDISAM.com that allows listeners all across the world to listen live to programming as it airs on WDIS-AM. Station General Manager Dan Collier says, We are a local station and strive to bring our listeners local programming. In KP Basketball we are able to directly involve three local towns, Wrentham, Plainville and Norfolk. I feel that KP basketball will have a tremendous following.

Wrentham Cable Access (WCAC) is a private non profit corporation that was created to mange the PEG (Public, Educational & Government) access channels for the town of Wrentham. The station is managed by Frank Whitehead. Frank first came to WCAC as a volunteer back in 1992. Frank was the President of WCAC from 1998 - 2000 before becoming the station manager in 2001. Its our goal to provide excellent local programming and the opportunity to partner with KP High School Basketball and WDIS radio to bring our viewers in Wrentham, Plainville and Norfolk an entire season of basketball is great.

The first KP basketball game is scheduled for Friday night December 12.
