James ‘jim’ Edward Titsworth, Jr. attended Kimball High School in Kimball, NE.

Jim graduated from KCHS in 1962. He joined the Army in 1965, became an officer, then joined the Army Special Forces, he did 3 tours in Vietnam, and was awarded a silver star, two bronze stars (one with a V for valor), 2 Purple Hearts, a Vietnamese Gallentry Cross Unit Citation. He did 9 years active, then several years in the Nebraska Army Reserve, retired as a Colonel and continued to receive several military accommodations.
He worked as a journalist for the Grand Island Independent and as a police officer for the City of Grand Island.
He married Joni Kuzma of Grand Island and adopted his three step-children after their father passed. He received a Masters Degree in History and wrote his thesis on the Battle of Wounded Knee.
He loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge. He was a collector of firearms and in retirement he taught concealed and carry classes along with two other friends.
He loved his country, community, family, dogs, and motorcycles.
The is survived by his three children: Michael Kuzma of Lincoln, Charles Kuzma of Grand Island, and Crystal Steinbrook of Kearney. Two grandchildren: Oliver and Maura Randles. His sister, Deborah Titsworth Baker, one nephew, Clint, and three nieces, Erin, Sandi and Sheri.
